Awesome action camera with a bit of a learning curve.

My review is based on having a new flagship phone with plenty of internal storage. As long as you have a newer phone and 10-20 gigs of internal space, you should have a similar experience as I do. 

The must have accessories are a large micro SD card and the invisible selfie stick (the link below will give you a free selfie stick if the promo is still going on). The invisible selfie stick is what makes this camera so great, it is like having a drone with you at all times. This is really awesome for me because I frequent national parks. National parks have strict drone laws. 

Besides the invisible selfie stick trick, the best thing about shooting in 360 degrees is that you don't have to care where the camera is pointed because you can adjust the view in post production. It is more about getting the spatial position right and not where the camera is pointed. The end result is getting a bunch of different takes from a single video like you had a film crew with you panning the camera just right, it is a hard feeling to explain. 

Post production is what scared me away from buying a 360 camera in the past. Insta360 has a really nice built in 360 editor and pretty smart AI to help make unique videos if you are willing to take the time to understand the software. If you want best quality, you need to utilize a computer for post production. 

Quality is very good for its intended purpose of making sick looking short videos that will most likely be consumed on a small screen (think phone apps like TikTok or Instagram). I would have given 5 stars to the camera if it could output in full quality straight from my phone instead of needing to edit on my computer to take advantage of higher resolution output.  

Overall it is my favorite action camera and a different beast than a GoPro. Most people agree this is better than the GoPro version. I will still use my Phone and other action cameras for certain things, but the One X2 brings a special feel that only a 360 camera can provide. This was way worth it for the money!
